sport-trike-strollerJogging strollers have become one of the most popular accessories for pet owners.  By pushing the jogging pet stroller while running for exercise, the pet owner can ensure that his/her health is maintained and his dog is enjoying the out world in a different way.  With the pet jogger you can take your four legged friend out for a short time and get all the exercise you need to stay in shape, or maintain your already healthy lifestyle.

With devices such as the pet jogging stroller, it is easy for the entire family to get their exercise as frequently as possible while also taking the family pet out for some type of activity.  Simply by strolling through your local neighborhood, you can burn calories and show off your dog to the neighbors at the same time as providing a good example to other pet owners.

Arthritis In Dogs

dog-in-pain Arthritic symptoms are fairly common in older dogs.  As they become older,  their joints often weaken and arthritis occurs.  Arthritis is often a very painful  condition that causes much discomfort no matter what age of animal it affects.  Thankfully, there are several things that dog owners can do at home to ease some  of the pain caused by canine arthritis.

Control arthritis by diet.  Overweight dogs often suffer more greatly than leaner  dogs due to the added weight on their joints.  Control the calories, reduce the  amount of treats you give to your canine.  Provide them a better sleep.  Hard and cold surfaces often worsen arthritis.  Allowing your dog to sleep indoors or on a heated bed will also offer a lot of relief for their pain.  Don’t forget to exercise your pet.  Getting your dog into a regular exercise routine that strengthens muscles and cartilage will lead to healthier joints as well.  Playing, and/or walking on a daily basis will increase the blood flow through the joints.

And least but not last, show them more love.  Help them when and how you can.  All arthritic dogs will appreciate their owner giving them a little extra attention.  Simply raising feed dishes off the floor so the animal is not required to bend down as far can be helpful in reducing joint pain.  Providing steps/ramp to areas where your dog once used to jump. Taking them for a walk in a comforting pet jogger as they can still enjoy the outdoors will make them feel better at least in their heart.

pet-trailer-jogger-combo-navy-blueDogs or cats age more rapidly than a humans, the average being seven times faster.  By age two, dogs and cats are considered adults and middle aged by the time they hit four.  Cats and dogs in general are seniors when they reach 8 to 10 years of age.

Putting this in perspective, seven years of a human’s life equals about 45 for a medium-sized dog and approximately 55 years for a cat. With this rapid aging, the risks of various diseases, illnesses also increase.  A major factor in keeping your pet happy and healthy in its senior years, is taking your cat or dog to a veterinarian on a regular basis, however it’s also important for you to take your own role in your pet’s health.

Exercise your senior pet.  Your pet is probably not able to run around quite as fast or quite as easily as when it was younger, however you can still take your dog for a walk.  You will likely need to slow down or consider an alternative when going for a walk.  Pet jogging strollers can help you and you pet continue enjoying the old routines.

With a little care and vigilance on your part, your pet will enjoy a long life, and its senior years will be happy and healthy.

No More Barking

jp8333vrControlling your dog’s barking behavior might be very frustrating.   Some dogs get too aggressive to the point that they become disturbing and irritating to your family and your neighborhood, while others bark excessively for some weird reasons.  Many dog owners find themselves clueless and unsure as to what must be done to solve this behavior.

Primarily make sure you’re giving your canine all the things and necessities he needs.  If their needs are not being met, the barking might be a cry or signal that he waits for your care and assistance.  Always ensure that you give them the right amount of food and water everyday.

If your beloved pet barks, you might observe that they are either bored or energetic, or beg for a little attention.  Don’t let your dog be confined inside your house, instead, take him outside where he can play and interact with other dogs as often as you can.   A dog that is properly trained to socialize with people and other animals will not bark excessively. Training your dog is a great way to improve his physical and mental stimulation.  Dogs naturally enjoy the outdoor and like to experience new things.  The barking problem may be solved when the dog is taken on regular walks.  To keep them happy, consider something new for them, a pet jogger for instance that will create a slightly different environment while outside.
