Life at a foster home then came to an end one night. I remember, the doorbell rang and of course all the cats would run to see who it was, not me however. Then I heard a voice, a voice that was full of love, passion and care. And I realized that she was here for one of us. I thought, well, at least one less cat around me and one of us can start a new life. I was not even dreaming that would be me. But it was. She came to look for me as I was hiding beside the bed. I did not wanted her to touch me, but I guess I had no choice. This lovely lady picked me up and started talking to me in a very different language that I was used to so far.
She then asked me to jump into a black cat carrier, but that was the last place I wanted to be again. I was forced into it after all and my road trip started. It seemed the end of the world where we were heading, still, somehow I just felt that something good was coming. After about an hour (eternity for a cat believe me), I found myself in a nice cozy apartment, free from other cats. I didn’t know where to start exploring, I just kept meowing and thanking my new owner that she saved me.
Dog toys are relevant to dogs no matter what breed they are. They help avoid boredom. There are different types of dog toys with different purposes. One type of dog toy is the active toys which are especially made of very hard rubber to sustain when dogs chew it. Then, there is a dog toy for distraction. This refers to toys that are to lure your dog away from some destructive activities. Toys for gaming, such as noise making toys and toys with an open cavity within them for interactive games are very popular as well. Comfort dog toys are soft stuffed toys that can give comfort to your dogs. In the absence of these toys, your dog might look for other things in your household to chew on that could be destructive or health threatening to them. Dog toys, beside entertainment and exercise, are also good to train them.
And if you want to have a toy for both your beloved four legged friend and yourself, well then look into our wide variety of pet strollers that will bring fun and a different time-spending together.
Getting a cat does require you to purchase some extra items before he or she arrives in your home. In order to make a home for your cat, you will need some (most) of the following items, such as: food bowl, water bowl, cat food, litter box, litter box materials, cat bed, scratching post, cat carrier, cat toys, cat leash, cat collar, cat harness and grooming tools.
Although these seem like simple items, if you have never owned a cat there are certain things to consider before you go out and buy the most expensive of everything.
Your cat must eat and drink, however the food and water bowl does not have to cost you a fortune. Mainly they just need to be easy to clean and heavy so they won’t tip over easily. You also need to make sure that your cat has food and water in their bowls as well. Unless you plan on teaching your cat how to use the toilett, you will need to purchase a litter box and everything that goes in it. This involves the litter box, the scoop, and the litter. And don’t forget the entertainment part. Toys, scratching post and if your are planning to take your cat outside, then consider a three or four-wheeled cat stroller for their safety.
A child growing up with pets around is usually happy, affectionate and responsible from a very young age. They experience learning respect for animals and the importance of affection becomes permanent.
How to bring out the best between your child and the pet is in your hands. First of all, show your child the proper way of handling pets. Kids could be very excited when around pets. Be a guide especially if it is your child’s first time to have a pet. Tell your child some facts about the pet, this way your child understands what some important facts about cats/dogs are. Encourage your child to play gently with the pet. Introduce the use of toys. Let your child understand what the importance of sleeping is and how he could help in giving this to his pet. Remind your child the importance of not letting the pet outside your home without supervision. To keep their pets safe, it is a must that your child learns how to protect the cat/dog from any untoward incident. Teach them the use of the leash or a stroller if that is the way you usually take your pet out.
I think we all agree that our home is more complete if we have a four legged pet there to greet us after a hard day at work or snuggle up to us while we sleep. Cats are fickle as well as sweet, lovable creatures. Most cats recognize their owners by the sound of their voice, the car they drive, and who spoils them the most. Like dogs, cats can be trained too. A cat can be trained to come to your call, to bring their toys when they want to play, to go for a walk on a leash or in a cat stroller, as well as more domestic issues such as using a litter box. The key to training a cat or kitten is reinforcement.
It is typically wise to start out reinforcement with a kitten, but it can be introduced any time in a cat’s life. Cats are very good in distinguishing tones of your voice, not the words though. They will know they have done something right/wrong just by the tone of voice you use. Reinforcement is either positive (hugs, petting, treats, play) or negative (water, raised voice). Positive reinforcement will make them do things by their own. If you make them used to something they like, they will keep coming back and “demanding” it from you. And the way they show appreciation is something that soon you will be aiming for.
Movement and curiosity are basic life qualities of a cat. Cats like to wander and explore the outside world and so do we humans. The cat stroller is certainly one of today’s novelties that enable men and their feline friends to share the joys of a wandering stroll whether it is along the city sidewalks or in the great outdoors.
Any cat, healthy, sick, injured or aged can enjoy the advantages of a stroller. Getting to see the outside world can and will therefore offer them the best therapy for recovery or at least will make them comfortable and happy. Cat strollers come in various sizes, colors, shapes and utilities. For instance, speaking of utility, there are double deck strollers and twin strollers that can accommodate two cats at the same time. Or the 3 in 1 strollers will allow you to use the carrier as a car seat when you are on the move. All the strollers have comfortable rest and sleep space and can be conveniently stroll-pushed along city sidewalks or on country paths.

Have you ever tried to name a pet? Of course, and you know it is not that easy. When naming a cat, try to find a name that would reflect its personality, character. Does she act like a diva or a princess?? Name her Diva or Princess. Or choose a name which would give recognition to the cat’s breed, appearance for instance: Midnight (should the pet be a black cat), Fluffy (obviously, if the cat is fluffy or has long, soft and bouncy coat) and Whitey (of course, if the cat is white). Pet names based on appearances or personality make up an amazing twenty percent of all pet names. Many cat owners also name their pet cats with human names, mainly because they desire to christen someone, or something, with that favorite name.
Keep in mind that the name you choose for your cat will not only reflect the cat’s character but also your views on relationship with the cat. As much as it will say about the cat, the name given will tell much about you as owner. No matter what name you choose, the cat’s name should remaine the same for the rest of his/her life. Try to find a name which you will be proud to use. Usually a name with two syllables will do best as the response of animals is better to two-syllable names.
At the end all it matters that both of you should be happy.
Adopting a dog or cat from an animal shelter has many advantages but will also make you feel better in knowing that you helped save the life of a helpless animal that deserves a second chance. They are the helpless ones who need you to rescue them.
Some of the benefits of adopting a dog or cat from a shelter are as follows:
1. They already have their shots and have been examined by a vet for diseases and parasites.
2. Shelters often have information about an animals temper, so you know in advance what kind of pet you are bring into your home. Is the animal good with children, does it make noise and how much, is it playful and obedient, it is housebroken and many other important details which will make the transition from shelter to home that much easier for both the new owner as well as the animal.
3. Adopting a pet frees space in the shelter for more animals which is always an issue. Animal shelters provide a valuable service to the community that they serve by keeping the streets as free of stray animals as possible. The only way that they can bring in more stray animals is if people adopt those currently in the shelter or if they euthanize the animal which nobody wants to see happen to a helpless animal.
Before you spend thousands of dollars buying an animal from a breeder or pet store first consider visiting your local animal shelter and see if that special someone you are looking for is waiting for you.
Any posh pet can tell you that traveling in an owner’s oversized purse is so last year. The most pampered pet deserves the deluxe treatment in his or her very own pet stroller. You can buy pet strollers in sporty blue or red, or choose princess pink dog strollers for your little diva. An all-terrain stroller means your pet can accompany you on rocky hikes; a more delicate, designer stroller is perfect for quiet trips to the park or shopping downtown.
While any pet can experience the royal treatment of pet strollers, they are extra convenient for older pets that have trouble walking or pets who have recently had surgery. Most pet strollers have enclosed seating areas so pets won’t fall out or be pelted with rain or snow. And some strollers even fold up into a convenient size for storage in a closet or the trunk of your car. No matter what model of pet stroller you choose, you can rest assured that your pet can always be with you.
In recent years, I’ve become much more vigilant about my children’s diet and exercise routines. While I used to practice a relatively lax parenting style, it’s become clear that they need close supervision and guidance. My youngest daughter Elizabeth is already a bit pudgy, and I want her to stay healthy without worrying too much about her appearance. That’s why I’ve been looking for ways to mix physical fitness with fun.
We bought a pair of lightweight pet strollers for the girls and encouraged them to take their cats Jarvis and Ruthie for regular walks. Of course neither child knows that the idea is to promote exercise. I tell them it’s a chance to let the cats get some fresh air and enjoy the neighborhood sights and sounds. Now that I think of it, the experience is beneficial for the felines as well.
