imgp2345-misolata So, before I tell you more stories of my life, let me introduce myself.  My name  is Diva Princess and I was born in April of 2006.  I’m not sure  who and when gave  me this name, but apparently suits me very much.  Well, you know, I do have an  attitude, I do like things my way and I like  to be treated like a Princess.  I like to  be pampered, however I have my  limits. Sometimes it feels good to be petted  forever, sometimes I just  don’t need it.

I am a clean cat who does not go for the second time in the litter box if  it’s not  cleaned.  I am also very finicky when it comes to food, which of  course I know that causes lots of headache to my mom.   Mom?? Did I just say that??  Well, you know, I love her, she saved my life, and she always shows me enormous amount of love, so I figured I just call her Mom.

Going On A Journey

pet-on-journey Many people enjoy taking their dogs on vacation with them.  While it is  true that dogs are resilient, they need a few things for long car rides and  trips, just like people do.

Perhaps the most important thing to pack for the dog is water and a  bowl to put it in.  A leash is also vital for walking the dog at every stop.  A dog that is obedient off the leash at home is still likely to become  nervous when travelling.  This will stop the dog from running away,  even if it becomes frightened.  Dog food is also important and should be  offered along with water during stops.  Many dogs may not feel like  eating during a trip though as it is a natural dog response. Keep some      treats on hand to offer occasionally to get the dog through the drive.

Take the dog’s favorite bed or pillow and toys along on the trip.  The pillow will come in handy in the car to give the dog a comfortable spot.  However when travelling long distances with old dogs, small dogs, or puppies, consider a pet carrier that they are kept more safe, without being able to move around and eventually harm themselves.

Facts of Cats

four-different-catsCats are very interesting creatures and they possess really admirable characteristics.  Cats for example can see 6 times better than human beings.  It is during night time when cats could really see more than we could.  They live anywhere in the world, from the steaming Africa to icy cool Greenland.  Cats could swim, however they are not into it that much.  An eighteen-hour sleep is achievable by cats in hot countries.

In general, cats are very good pets as they are very affectionate.  Researches underline that owning cats as pets is most beneficial for ill or old patients.  It has been found out that animals like cats could reduce their depression and other negative feelings brought by solitude and sickness.   So, go ahead and adopt a cat or buy one and enjoy their loving company any time.

Dog Toys

three-dogs Dog toys are relevant to dogs no matter what breed they are.  They help  avoid boredom.  There are different types of dog toys with different  purposes.  One type of dog toy is the active toys which are especially  made of very hard rubber to sustain when dogs chew it.  Then, there is a  dog toy for distraction.  This refers to toys that are to lure your dog  away from some destructive activities.  Toys for gaming, such as noise  making toys and toys with an open cavity within them for interactive  games are very popular as well.  Comfort dog toys are soft stuffed toys  that can give comfort to your dogs.  In the absence of these toys, your  dog might look for other things in your household to chew on that could  be destructive or health threatening to them.  Dog toys, beside  entertainment and exercise, are also good to train them.

And if you want to have a toy for both your beloved four legged friend and yourself, well then look into our wide variety of pet strollers that will bring fun and a different time-spending together.

Small Dog Versus Large Dog

small-dog-versus-large-dogThere are a number of reasons why small dogs are preferred among many owners.  Unlike with medium and large dogs, you don’t have to worry about living in a small apartment, or not being able to handle them as you get older.  Feeding them is much easier, and some of them can even be trained to use a litter box.  They make great companions, and can accompany you almost anywhere.  They can travel well, fit inside a two wheeled dog stroller that allows you to carry them easily.  Small dogs want to be a part of the family and included in everything they do.

They are not always available at animal shelters and dog adoption agencies, however you can find different breeds at your local pet stores and dog breeders, as well as online.

Kids and Pets

child-and-dogs A child growing up with pets around is usually happy, affectionate and responsible from a very  young age.  They experience learning respect for animals and the importance of affection  becomes permanent.

How to bring out the best between your child and the pet is in your hands.  First of all, show  your child the proper way of handling pets.  Kids could be very excited when around pets.  Be a  guide especially if it is your child’s first time to have a pet.  Tell your child some facts about the  pet, this way your child understands what some important facts about cats/dogs are.  Encourage your child to play gently with the pet.  Introduce the use of toys.  Let your child  understand what the importance of sleeping is and how he could help in giving this to his pet.  Remind your child the importance of not letting the pet outside your home without  supervision.  To keep their pets safe, it is a must that your child learns how to protect the  cat/dog from any untoward incident.  Teach them the use of the leash or a stroller if that is the way you usually take your pet out.

Before vacation

s1202_redCouple of things to keep in mind if you’re thinking of taking your pet along with you on a trip.  First of all, make sure that pets are allowed wherever you are planning to stay.  Specify that you are traveling with a dog or a cat as different rules apply to different pets.  The “pets allowed” does not always reflect the fact that your cat can stay with you unless in a large case or not at all.

Before you leave, make sure you do a few essential things.  Pack a photograph of your pet, just in case they get lost, check their tag for identification, as details of your name, address and phone number should be accurate in case you need to be contacted.   Take them to the vet and make sure they are up-to-date with all the shots,  and also carry proof of their shots - you might need them as some places ask for proof of the latest rabies shot.

Try to make them get used to the leash and harness for longer periods of time.  Or if you like so, make them used to pet gears to sit still in them for extended periods of time.   Take them for longer drives so they get used to the idea of sitting still when traveling.   It is always safer to make sure your pet is well secured while in a vehicle, therefore consider the use of a pet carrier on the back seat, buckled in, in which they can be safe.

Taking those safety precautions will make your trip worry free and more enjoyable.
