Unlike with medium and large dogs, you don’t have to worry about living in a small apartment, or not being able to handle them as you get older. Feeding them is much easier, and some of them can even be trained to use a litter box. They make great companions, and can accompany you almost anywhere. They can travel well, fit inside a two wheeled dog stroller that allows you to carry them easily. Small dogs want to be a part of the family and included in everything they do.
They are not always available at animal shelters and dog adoption agencies, however you can find different breeds at your local pet stores and dog breeders, as well as online.
