Reinforcements in Cats

macska-hintanI think we all agree that our home is more complete if we have a four legged pet there to greet us after a hard day at work or snuggle up to us while we sleep.  Cats are fickle as well as sweet, lovable creatures.  Most cats recognize their owners by the sound of their voice, the car they drive, and who spoils them the most.  Like dogs, cats can be trained too.  A cat can be trained to come to your call, to bring their toys when they want to play, to go for a walk on a leash or in a cat stroller, as well as more domestic issues such as using a litter box.  The key to training a cat or kitten is reinforcement.

It is typically wise to start out reinforcement with a kitten, but it can be introduced any time in a cat’s life.  Cats are very good in distinguishing tones of your voice, not the words though.  They will know they have done something right/wrong just by the tone of voice you use.  Reinforcement is either positive (hugs, petting, treats, play) or negative (water, raised voice).  Positive reinforcement will make them do things by their own.  If you make them used to something they like, they will keep coming back and “demanding” it from you.   And the way they show appreciation is something that soon you will be aiming for.

dog-carrier-bagWhy would an average pet parent need a pet carrier?

You do need a pet carrier if you have a cat or dog that travels with you.  While driving you do not want your pet moving around the car.  This is very dangerous for you, your pet and other drivers.

3 in 1 pet carriers are an ideal option for traveling with cats and small dogs.   They act as a stroller, carrier and a car seat, providing protection, and a reassuring space for the pet within the vehicle, train or airplane.  Pets are more relaxed in their own safe and secure den which the pet carrier can provide.  When you arrive at your destination you will have a happier and more relaxed pet,  so consider your pet and get him/her a pet carrier.

Prices on pet carriers will vary widely depending upon the size, material and quality of the pet carrier.  For further items and options, visit our website at www.PetsStrollers.com and browse through our wide selection of pet carriers.

twin-pet-stroller-blueAnimal lovers doubtlessly spoil their pets whenever they can.  For most pet owners, taking care of a cat, dog or other small animals that they love is already a joy in itself, and they constantly seek ways to pamper their furry friends.  The love we feel for our four legged partners, the fact that we are thankful and appreciative for their companionship and contributions to the family, make us continuously find ways to return the affection.  Purchasing special pet accessories, so that their comfort is prioritized above all things, is something we are always looking for.

An example of a special pet accessory worth getting is a pet stroller.  Whether two, three or four wheeled stroller, this product is fun and easy to use.   Most of the strollers are foldable, light weight, and come in many different colors and shapes.  If you have not one but two dogs or cats, you can still have a stroller made just for this, the double-deck stroller or the twin stroller allowing you to carry two pets at the same time.  Check out the wide variety of these cat and dog carriers at PetsStrollers.com and pamper your pet the way you never did before.

pg1280crAs an owner of a dog or cat, you have chosen the responsibility of taking care of their needs, which include food, shelter, health care and proper transportation.

Dog and cat carriers are an important part of your travel if you have a pet.   The pet carrier is a safe way of transporting your dog in the car, as well as a way of taking him places where he may not be welcomed to run freely or on a leash.  By buying a carrier for your dog, you are making a cost-effective investment on your pet’s welfare and safety while on the road.

With a dog carrier, you are also giving your pet the freedom to rule his own world.   Just like humans, dogs also love to have their own private place.  If you properly train your dog to use a dog carrier, he’ll think his carrier is a safe place and will be happy to spend time in when needed.

Before vacation

s1202_redCouple of things to keep in mind if you’re thinking of taking your pet along with you on a trip.  First of all, make sure that pets are allowed wherever you are planning to stay.  Specify that you are traveling with a dog or a cat as different rules apply to different pets.  The “pets allowed” does not always reflect the fact that your cat can stay with you unless in a large case or not at all.

Before you leave, make sure you do a few essential things.  Pack a photograph of your pet, just in case they get lost, check their tag for identification, as details of your name, address and phone number should be accurate in case you need to be contacted.   Take them to the vet and make sure they are up-to-date with all the shots,  and also carry proof of their shots - you might need them as some places ask for proof of the latest rabies shot.

Try to make them get used to the leash and harness for longer periods of time.  Or if you like so, make them used to pet gears to sit still in them for extended periods of time.   Take them for longer drives so they get used to the idea of sitting still when traveling.   It is always safer to make sure your pet is well secured while in a vehicle, therefore consider the use of a pet carrier on the back seat, buckled in, in which they can be safe.

Taking those safety precautions will make your trip worry free and more enjoyable.

If your are ready to fly….

pg1280obIf you are planning on going on holiday along with your pet, you have to be aware of certain rules you might encounter. To decide which dog carrier to purchase you should understand and look into the airline’s guidelines.   Some airlines allow certain pets to be checked in as a carry-on.  The only thing you should do at this point is to choose the right size carrier fitting the room under the seat in front of you.  The dog carriers will be approved if they are smaller and fit there perfectly.

Some of the dog carriers are like backpacks, have two wheels for an easier pull and they are suitable for small dogs mostly.  The choice will depend now only on your dog’s comfort and your preferences.  You should make sure that your dog will be comfortable lying down in it for a longer period of time as flights might take hours.
